  4. The next post will contain my file points mod.  It is rather large, and as
  5. a result, has to be UUENCODEd.  If you can't decode it, holler and I'll e-mail
  6. you a copy.

  8. In case you aren't familiar with the mod, it adds a new variable, file points,
  9. to your user list (actually, just makes use of an existing variable).  Users
  10. get file points by uploading files, at the rate of 2 points for every 1 kbytes
  11. of upload.  File points are spent when downloading, at the rate of 1 to 1.
  12. This mod takes tamporary files into account, and adds options so you can set
  13. the file points from //UEDIT.

  15. It is a great alternative to the up/download ratio, and also allows you to
  16. designate certain files as "free" downloads.

  18. A must for all systems, IMHO, it has really helped me to make the transfer
  19. section what it was meant to be.

  21. Some options are left open after you install the mod; just a hint... I have it
  22. hooked into my gold system as well, so users can trade gold, time, and file
  23. points, one for the other.  I call it the general store, but that's just fancy
  24. stuff to make users go "oooooh".  And isn't that why we're all here?!  :)
